The Apricot from Galatone

(Prunus armeniaca)

 It is a precocious variety, that reaches maturation toward May-June. This peculiarity makes it highly sought-after. The color is yellow with pink shades and reds streaks, it tastes sweet and juicy. The trees are very long-lived and they can up to age of fifty years. In Galatone countryside exist specimens  of almost century-old trees, that testify the great resistance of this plant and the tradition of its cultivation.
